Though we travel up the unmade road from our villa to the main road almost every day we seldom take photos. Here the sesame plants are drying in bundles ready for their seeds to be extracted. The field is replanted and immediately flooded. A lovely family. |

Pauline, Sabine and Graham visited Mustafa and his family during Ramadan. His new puppy is quite adorable and the family made us so welcome. This was all part of Animal Welfare Of Luxor's visit to friends with animals on the east bank of Luxor. |

We had a super day at Deir El Medina - the workers village. We visited the three tombs there, walked around the remains of the village and spent much time at the temple which was being expertly guarded. It was the third week of Ramadan so everybody is tired. |

The most well known tomb within the workers village is the wonderful, though small, tomb of Sennedjem. Above the entrance we use today is this often overlooked small pyramid. His tomb would have been closed after burial and the pyramid is where his family and friends would enter to pay their respects. |

Though there was still just over three hours to go before they could eat, dinner was being prepared on the Theban hills. We stopped for a shi (tea) with our friends before heading off to Africa restaurant for our own dinner. |

This is our new front courtyard that we mentioned last month. Now completed we are really pleased with it as it makes the area so useful. Pauline sorts out the bits and pieces to restock the car for today's AWOL visit to El Marise. |
