Discovered early last year at the temple of Amenhotep III this statue continues to be reassembled. Though looking rather like a public hanging the head has now been fixed with just the crown to go. Click Here to see what it looked like in March 2007. |

Many of the homes on the Theban hills have been demolished but this little cluster remains and we hope it stays as these give such character to the area and the people are so friendly. |

Happy 17th Birthday Emily. We miss you but hope you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoy Luxor. This was a particularly nice day at Sindbads with our Spanish friends Lluis and Teresa and we thank them for e-mailing this picture to us. |

Charlie found a new place to chill out. The only problem is that the box wasn't empty and Charlie had to open every packet in his own unique way and break the contents down into flat bags of crumbs. Oh well, at least he is cute when he is asleep!!! |

On the way back from the west bank we just had to stop and watch this traditional ploughing. There is a quality of life here that is beyond money. Everybody makes us so welcome and the family is so important here. |

We had to call the snake catcher in and he found three cobras whilst at the villa but this was the one that had been hissing from the bush by our bedroom window and causing Marcy and Tufty to bark all night. It is lovely to have our peace restored. |
