Luxor Property

As you know we are an English couple who live permanently in Luxor so we know the problems of buying or renting property but we also know just how wonderful it is living here in Luxor. These pages have been created in response to the many questions we receive about having a property here in Luxor so if you are thinking of buying or renting a flat or having a house or villa built we hope you will find this section useful.

If you are considering buying a flat or apartment in Luxor or perhaps having a complete house (or as they call it villa) built then now appears to be a very good time but it must be done correctly. You will know that almost everybody claims that they can do almost everything but this is most often not the case. We really love the life here in Luxor but like anywhere in the world things are so much easier when you know the rules.

Whatever you do, before you commit to anything, you MUST have your own lawyer. NOT one recommended by anybody connected with the sale or rental.

Having been frequent visitors to Egypt for so many years we knew much about the Egyptian people and their way of life. We considered that we had good friends both European and Egyptian but once you live here things are quite different and the learning curve and disappointment does take its toll.

We wish we knew then what we know now as we would have done so much differently but we are happy here and life is extremely good but in the time we have been here we have seen too many nice people have problems or just give up and leave.
