As a caring and responsible
voluntary organisation Animal welfare of Luxor tries to buy all
that we can locally to support the local community. Things in general
are much cheaper in Egypt but there are some things that are more
expensive, others that are much more difficult to find than in Europe,
some of very poor quality and some just not available here at all.
Please support the work of Animal Welfare Of
Luxor and if you could bring any of these items with you when you
come to Luxor it would be a great help.
| Kitty and Puppy Wormer |
Always needed but just not available here. |
| Animal Shampoo |
Any shampoo that removes fleas is really helpful but I have found that - Sherley's Insecticidal Shampoo - is particularly effective here. |
Bandages,
Primary Dressings and
Steri-strips |
All types, in and out of date.
1001 uses and we use so many. We haven't found a source for
primary dressings or Steri-strips here and with bandages they
weigh so little to bring over and the quality is much better
in europe. |
| Frontline |
We know this is expensive but it does go
a long way and is excellent in improving the lives of dogs and
the stronger puppies. |
| Muzzles |
URGENTLY REQUIRED Just one each of small, medium and large. We do not have any at the moment and
some dogs really should be muzzled whilst we treat them. |
| Towels |
For drying animals which is most important
as the nights are cold here in winter. Obviously towels are
available here but if you could leave your used ones behind
it would save us money and they tend to be more absorbent. |
| Powered Milk |
Any kind of powered baby milk or puppy formula. |
| Small Collars and Leads |
Because they are not available in Luxor and too many puppies and young dogs are being run over, and killed. Second hand is fine. We are looking into making them here but what we can use for a lead contains just too much nylon and we need to find small buckles. |
| Other Items |
